Valuable lesson for others, never tell anyone you have a FIN GPS installed!
Gadsden, Alabama – A FIN GPS customer met up with a prospective buyer of his 2021 Can-Am Maverick. The interested party wanted to test drive the UTV, so the owner agreed to meet him at what he presumed to be the buyer’s home. The buyer was there waiting when he pulled up with his Maverick on his trailer. He then unloaded it so the “interested buyer” could take it for a quick ride around the block. Well, he never came back!
After leaving with the UTV, the thief took it to his nearby home. The Owner then used his FIN app to locate his UTV. He called the FIN Theft Center to verify, and we immediately confirmed its location. Once the rightful owner went to the site with a spare key in hand, he saw his Maverick, jumped in, and sped off without anyone else in sight. Although we at FIN do not recommend confronting a thief in this situation, the UTV was recovered as fast as it was taken with no damage.
The rightful owner was very happy he decided to protect it with FIN at the time of purchase from his Dealer. Let this be a lesson to all; be careful if you decide to sell any vehicle and ensure you are protected. This situation would have ended differently if he had not installed a FIN GPS.
